We designers have some bad habits. Not keeping our portfolio and website up to date is probably the key one. Of course, when we’re busy we’re too busy to do any updating, so I guess that’s a good sign.
For now here’s some juice and yogurt packaging from my first job in 1998, when all I wanted from my phone was the Motorola StarTac, and I had absolutely no idea what was on the horizon both in technology and how my career would unfold.
Back then I definitely had no idea that one day, among other apps and platforms, I’d design an award-winning travel app and the crazy UGC ecosystem around it to say nothing of the first travel app designed for Apple Watch and available on the hardware’s launchday, a revolutionary short story app, loved by media and writers, a game that I retooled and pivoted into a marketing and metrics tool, a growing API-first FX hedging application and it’s gargantuan back-office, and that I wouldn’t spend my days art directing photoshoots of strawberries for Petits Filous.
What a rollercoaster the past 26 years have been!
